Roger Binny, the current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), along with the Vice President, Rajeev Shukla, have confirmed the tour of Pakistan, according to a media report. Previously, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, was invited by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to watch the opening match of the Asia Cup.
Roger and Vice President Rajiv Shukla will land in Pakistan on September 4, according to a release. In addition to attending ceremonial receptions, they will watch Asia Cup games in Pakistan.
Roger went on to say that he has no reservations about visiting Pakistan because his trips there have always been spectacular. Pakistanis make gracious hosts.
Roger added that he hoped that the cricketing ties between Pakistan and India would improve as a result of his trip to Pakistan. The largest and most seen matches in Asia are those between Pakistan and India.
It's noteworthy that Roger Binni will make his first trip to Pakistan in 18 years; his previous visit was for the Asian Cricket Council's camp in 2005.
As was previously reported by Cricket Pakistan last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had asked Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), to attend the Asia Cup's first game.
Between August 30 and September 17, 2023, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will host the Asia Cup, with Pakistan playing Nepal on August 30 at Multan.
