Chacha bhatija’: Iftikhar Ahmed on batting with Babar Azam

In the opening match of the Asia Cup on Wednesday in Multan, Pakistan defeated Nepal handily by a score of 238 runs.

Iftikhar hit 11 boundaries and four sixes in his unbroken 109 off just 71 balls. Together with Babar Azam, he contributed 214 runs to Pakistan's best fifth-wicket partnership in ODI history, which helped the team reach 342-6.

Iftikhar's admirers affectionately refer to him as "chacha" (uncle). After the game, a reporter jokingly referred to Babar as Iftikhar's "bhatija" (nephew) and asked about Babar's assistance throughout their cooperation.

Iftikhar said, "Bhatija also gave confidence to chacha and chacha also gave confidence to bhatija," emphasising their close bond. Babar is a top-tier athlete. He relieves pressure by managing strike rotation. As a result, we enjoyed playing baseball together.
